Chris Pichotta
In my paintings I explore different textures and the interaction of color. Most of my paintings are non-figurative with a curiosity of the push and pull of layers, additive/subtractive concept .The duality of the bolder marks and atmospheric washes. My sculptures dive into the interaction of form and light. Shadows..! Light interacts and creates an extension of the piece. I combine different materials to form a cohesive shape. In some of my sculptures I incorporate weathered metal to emphasize time and the importance of the past and what effects it has on the present. I create my pieces with the idea of dimensional perspective inspired by nature and mathematics.
