I have lived in Sturgeon Bay and have painted Door County since 1975. I paint landscapes, still-lifes, and figurative work with oils and acrylics in a style that emphasizes color and movement. My inspiration comes from nature as I honor the personalities of animate and inanimate subjects and their wordless conversations. Some of my work is painted directly from nature and others are scenes from my imagination. I was lucky to grow up near Lake Michigan, exploring beaches, woods and ravines, and to come of age in a milieu where respect for nature and all people was prized.
