Nicole Herbst

I have my BFA from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with an emphasis in education. I also have my masters in education and in pastoral ministry with a certification in youth ministry. I have been teaching in the Sturgeon Bay School District for the last thirty years. I am a member of the Minneapolis Textile Center, Wisconsin Art Education Association, and the National Art Education Association.

My art emphasis leans toward mixed media, but my latest work has been with felting and watercolors. I love exploring all different art mediums including weaving, drawing, acrylic painting, and natural materials found in nature. I am mostly inspired by nature, mainly with flowers and landscapes. Door County has offered so much for my imagination. I adore seeing different ways to express the beauty around us in a unique way.

I currently have work displayed at a number of Door County Galleries – see below. I have been teaching art workshops with different mediums throughout the county as well as in my home studio space. I also have created several commissioned art pieces for customers. I enjoy sharing my art knowledge through teaching adults at all levels in our county. I look forward to expanding my art process through more teaching outlets as well as art venues in Door County.
