Nicole Herbst is the artist behind NHerbst Creative, a certified art teacher who has inspired students in the Sturgeon Bay School District for more than 30 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry, bringing a perspective of creativity, compassion, and community to both her artwork and her teaching. Nicole is also a member of the Textile Center in Minneapolis reflecting her passion for fiber arts and lifelong artistic growth.

Working in a diverse range of mediums—including watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, art journaling, weaving, needle felting, and printmaking—Nicole’s artwork is inspired by the natural beauty of Door County and the meaningful connections between people, place, and creativity.

Nicole is a participating artist in the Sturgeon Bay Art Crawl, celebrating the vibrant arts community of Door County and sharing her work alongside other local artists. Her artwork is featured at In Yore Place Gallery in Egg Harbor, The Pearl of Door County, and Get Real Café in Sturgeon Bay, with her largest collection and creative home at ARTicipation Studio Gallery. There, she creates original artwork while leading hands-on workshops for all ages and experience levels, including Paint & Sip events, watercolor, mixed media, weaving, felting, and mindful art journals.

Nicole’s work has also been featured in juried exhibitions at The Hardy Gallery in Ephraim. Whether creating original artwork or cultivating creative experiences for others, her mission is to inspire people to explore, create, and connect. She believes art is more than something to admire—it is a powerful way to build community, nurture well-being, and remind us that everyone has the ability to create.
