Laurel Grey

Sabi is a Japanese word that describes the tranquil beauty found in age and imperfection. I create sculptural glass art rooted in a practice I call Sabi Fusion — blending contemporary glasswork with aged or weathered objects I collect because I find them too beautiful to ignore: weathered lumber, remnants of old furniture, driftwood, stone. They inspire the direction of the new work, resulting in a fusion of old and new that honors their sabi while creating something fresh and unexpected.
