JEANNE DEMERS
I am fortunate to have grown up in a household where creativity was the norm and encouraged. My parents were always supportive of my various endeavors. I have always leaned toward functional art. I am fascinated with clay and the endless possibilities it offers: the forms, colors, textures. I currently use stoneware, porcelain and raku clay to combine form with function in earth tones to create items that are both a pleasure to use and look at. I fire in electric and raku kilns. There is something very personal about the connection of the pottery and the user and me. It fulfills the need in me to create.
