Mary Spittell
I have always liked creating things but have been lucky enough to have more time for my artwork since moving to Door County nine years ago. I find a lot of inspiration in nature and am currently focusing on loose line charcoal drawing studying movement in wind, water and birds in flight. I like spending time away from technology and watching all the many parts of the earth move, trying to figure out a way to translate it into a drawing that you can bring inside and keep that feeling with you. More than anything I feel so fortunate to get to live here and do not take the peace this place offers me for granted, I think my drawing style reflects that calmness and meditation that drawing offers me.
